In a thrilling encounter, Al Sadd secured a significant victory against Al Shamal, finishing the game with a score of 101-99 after extra time. This contest took place at the QBF Indoor Hall on Tuesday, as part of the eighth round of the Qatar Basketball League for the 2024-2025 season.

The game was characterized by fierce competition from the outset, with both teams alternating control throughout. The regulation time concluded in a tie at 85-85, with the period scores recorded as follows: 19-16, 23-20, 12-23, and 30-25.

The game proceeded to an exhilarating extra period, during which Al Sadd managed to clinch the victory by a narrow margin of two points, scoring 17-15.

With this win, Al Sadd ascended to second place in the league standings, accumulating 12 points and narrowing the gap to just two points behind the leaders, Al Rayyan. Meanwhile, Al Shamal maintained their position in third place with 11 points, remaining competitive in the league.

Mackey Zion Juan Richard was a standout performer for Al Shamal, contributing 34 points, while Skyler Tyrone Flaten excelled for Al Sadd with 24 points.

In the other game of the evening, Qatar SC continued their impressive form, narrowly defeating Al Khor with a score of 70-67.

This exciting game showcased a balanced performance from both teams, with period scores of 20-22, 18-11, 16-10, and 16-24. Qatar SC improved their standing to fifth place with a total of 10 points, while Al Khor remained in eighth place with 8 points.

Dejan Janic delivered an outstanding performance for Qatar SC, leading all scorers with 28 points, while Billy Joel Hardy was the top performer for Al Khor, contributing 22 points.
