DOHA: In line with its strategy towards human development and the development of Qatari cadres, the Public Works Authority 'Ashghal' has organised an external visit to Stockholm, Kingdom of Sweden, entitled 'Practical Applications of Engineering in Roads'.
Some 23 Qatari male and female engineers participated in it.
The trip included visits to several project sites, with a focus on the design of intersections and exits to improve traffic flow, the integration of urban roads to enhance connectivity, and the advanced intelligent transportation system.
The importance of environmentally friendly roads and preventive and smart maintenance techniques was also emphasized.
The concluding ceremony was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Sweden HE Nadia bint Ahmed Al Shaibi, in addition to a representative from the Human Resources Department at Ashghal.
