Shop Qatar 2025, the nation’s largest shopping and entertainment festival, kickedoff in grand style at the iconic Place Vendôme on Wednesday.
Organised by Visit Qatar, the festival promises a month of thrilling experiences, special entertainment, and countless opportunities to win prizes, running from January 1 to February 1, 2025.
The opening ceremony set the stage for what is expected to be a vibrant and unforgettable festival.
Visitors were treated to a line-up of captivating performances, including Stormtroopers show, an exhilarating display of action and theatrics; a mesmerizing vertical dance performance; a spellbinding violin performance by the talented Haneen Al Alam; a special fireworks show; and a live performance by the celebrated Lebanese singer Abeer Nehme.
The festival also introduced its slogan for the year: “Shop More, Save More,” encapsulating the spirit of incredible shopping deals and rewarding experiences. One of the evening’s highlights was the announcement of the first lucky winner, who took home a cash prize of QR5,000.
Adding to the grandeur of the evening was a special appearance by Ghanim Al-Muftah, Qatar’s inspirational youth icon. His heartfelt words resonated deeply with the audience:
“We pray to God for security, safety, and peace to prevail for our people in Gaza. We do not forget them, and I believe that day will come—the day when peace will once again prevail for our people in Gaza.”
This year’s opening ceremony builds on the legacy of past celebrations. In 2024, the festival wowed audiences with parades, a drone show, and LED dance performances, all held at the Dancing Fountains of Place Vendôme. The tradition of excellence continues in 2025, with even more to offer residents and visitors alike.
Shop Qatar 2025 features a diverse range of entertainment shows, competitions, and unique shopping experiences at malls and retail outlets across Qatar. The festival aims to attract shoppers, families, and tourists, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere throughout the country.
