Director of Festivals and Events at Visit Qatar Ahmed Albinali has emphasised that the Shop Qatar Festival, which kicked off on Wednesday, is significant in promoting domestic tourism and making Qatar a centre for hosting unique and diverse events.
In statement on Thursday, Albinali said, “This year’s edition of Shop Qatar reflects how this festival has become a cherished tradition in Visit Qatar’s event calendar. It offers an exceptional mix of shopping, entertainment, and community engagement, showcasing Qatar as a hub for memorable experiences.”
The activities of the Shop Qatar Festival, the largest shopping and entertainment event in Qatar, kicked off under the theme ‘Your Shopping Playground’, and runs until February 1 with the participation of 20 shopping centres.
The opening ceremony of the festival, held at the Place Vendome Mall, witnessed a large turnout of the public, as the participating stores offered discounts and special offers on fashion, electronics, toys, beauty products, and home appliances.
Exclusive events were also held on the sidelines of the festival, bringing together local and international brands in heritage bazaars that displayed products such as perfumes, abayas, and handmade accessories.
Manager of Festival and Event Planning at Visit Qatar Abdulrahman Al Muftah emphasised the importance of the Shop Qatar festival in supporting and promoting tourism in Qatar, noting the great success achieved by previous editions.
Muftah added that this year’s edition was diverse and suitable for all members of society who will enjoy a special atmosphere of fun and enjoyment, pointing to the increase in the number of participating brands and stores and the prizes offered during the festival.
Every Friday, Shop Qatar Festival 2025 will offer unique experiences that include exclusive offers from luxury stores and local and international brands. Weekly draws will also be held with exceptional prizes, including cars and cash prizes.
