DOHA: The Hadad Al-Tahadi Championship competitions continued on Friday as part of the activities of the 16th edition of the Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival (Marmi 2025), which is held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani and with the support of the Social and Sports Activities Fund 'Daam'.
The festival will continue until February 1.
The third day of the festival witnessed the competitions of the third group in the Hadad Al-Tahadi Championship, andthe victory of falconer Hamad Mohammed Al Khalidi.
Mutab bin Mubarak Al Qahtani, Chairman of Marmi Festival, crowned the winner and presented him with the Hadad Al-Tahadi Championship shield.
The qualifier in the Hadad Al-Tahadi Championship wins a cash prize of QR100,000, in addition to competing for a Lexus car or an additional QR100,000 if he wins in the final.
Falconer Hamad Mohammed Al Khalidi expressed his happiness with the victory and qualification, stressing his readiness to compete in the final of the tournament.
For his part, Shawi Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Challenge Threat Committee, said that the falcons performed strongly on the third day, and this performance was crowned by the first qualifier, whom the committee congratulates on his victory and qualification.
The head of the Challenge Threat Committee pointed out that the third day witnessed the re-participation of Kuwaiti falconer Mubarak Saleh Al-Subaie, by decision of the arbitration committee.
For his part, Mubarak Saleh Al Subaie praised the decision of the jury, describing it as a fair decision, stressing that he is keen to register his presence and participation in the Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival for the sixth consecutive year, which is witnessing development from one year to the next in order to preserve the identity and heritage of our fathers and grandfathers in falconry.
In turn, falconer Abdullah Breik Al Marri praised the success of the Qatar International Falconry and Hunting Festival, the efforts of those in charge of it, and the good organization.
On the other hand, the Marmi Festival site witnessed a large turnout of citizens, residents, people from the GCC countries and foreign tourists. A number of social media influencers also visited the festival site on Friday evening.
On Saturday evening, the Saluki Racing Championship qualifiers will be held to determine the qualifiers for the final. The festival’s organizing committee has set the race distance at 2 kilometers.
