KUWAIT: Bahrain won the Arabian Gulf Cup trophy after beating Oman 2-1 on Saturday.

The final was held at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait.

Bahrain's Mohammad Marhoun scored the equaliser in the 78th minute, and two minutes later, he scored the second goal pushing his team to take the lead.

Oman's Abdulrahman Al Moshaifari scored the opener in the 17th minute in the first half of the game.

Omani players controlled almost the first half before Bahrain rebounded in the second, making a brilliant result and winning.

After Bahraini players took the lead in the second half, they made dangerous attempts towards the rivals' net. However, the game ended in 2-1 in favour of Bahrainis, gaining the second Gulf trophy in their history.

Bahrain's team won the second title in their history, after their first in the 24th Gulf Cup in Doha in 2019, while Oman's team became runners-up for the fourth time after failing to win their third title, having won the 19th Gulf Cup in Muscat in 2009 and the 23rd Gulf Cup in Kuwait in 2017.
