Four senior officials from the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF) have been appointed to commissions of the Asian University Sports Federation (AUSF) for the 2025–2027 term.

The appointments were announced during the AUSF meeting held last Friday in Beijing, China.

The selected officials are: Dr Salem Nasser Al Naimi, president of Doha University for Science and Technology and the QCSF board member as a member of AUSFPlanning and Development Commission; Rashid Saeed Adiba, secretary-general of the Qatar University Sports Federation, as a member of the AUSF Media and Communication Commission; Dr Senaid Salem Al Marri, director of Sports Affairs at Qatar University and the QCSF board member , as a member of the AUSF Education and Research Commission; and Hamad Al Shaiba, head of sport programs at Qatar Foundation and QCSF Board Member, as a member of the AUSF University Sports and Technical Commission.

The AUSF received 44 nominations from its member countries for seven committees, including 12 female and 32 male candidates.

QCSF’s Secretary General Rashid Saeed Adiba expressed his pride in Qatar’s appointments, saying: "This selection shows the AUSF’s trust in Qatar and its leadership in promoting sports in Asia. It also highlights Qatar’s role as a key sports hub and its dedication to improving university sports through sustainable projects and clear plans.”

He added that this achievement benefits not only Qatar but the entire Arab region.

The involvement of Qatari experts will help shape policies and create programs that meet the needs of young athletes, raising the standards of university sports in Asia and beyond.
