Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), a leader in digital banking, has introduced a range of new features to its QIB Mobile App and Lite App. These updates enhance functionality and convenience, reaffirming QIB’s commitment to revolutionizing the banking experience and meeting the evolving needs of its customers in Qatar.

A highlight of the new features is the introduction of the Cash Pickup Transfer service. This innovative solution allows customers to send money to beneficiaries in the Philippines and Egypt, even if the recipients do not have bank accounts. With competitive exchange rates and instant transfers, funds can be collected from over 22,000 agent locations, including all BDO Unibank branches in the Philippines and all Banque Misr branches in Egypt.

This service addresses the needs of unbanked populations, making money transfers more inclusive and accessible. It ensures that customers can securely support their families and friends abroad, directly addressing a critical segment of the population.

QIB now enables customers to convert their Absher Points into a cash balance by loading them onto new or existing prepaid cards through the QIB Mobile App. This feature gives customers a seamless way to transform their loyalty rewards into a usable balance for purchases and financial management on the go.

Additionally, customers can now apply for the Hadiyati (Gift) Card directly through the app. This prepaid card, which can be used at any VISA-enabled merchant in Qatar or abroad, offers a secure and flexible gifting option that aligns with customer preferences for convenience and personalization.

To extend financial security to a larger audience, QIB has made its Family Shield WPS Takaful policy accessible via the QIB Lite App. For just QR 10 per month, workers can secure affordable protection plans for their families, ensuring peace of mind. This integration highlights QIB’s commitment to financial inclusivity and its dedication to offering practical solutions for all segments of society.

With over 300 features and a highly intuitive user experience, the QIB Mobile App has become the preferred banking channel for most customers. It allows users to manage accounts, cards, and transactions efficiently while fulfilling all banking requirements remotely. Customers can also open new accounts, apply for personal financing or credit cards, and create additional accounts instantly.

The app is available on the App Store, Google Play, and Huawei AppGallery, allowing users to self-register easily using their active ATM/Debit Card number and PIN.
