DOHA:The Doha Marathon by Ooredoo 2025 will kick off on January 17 featuring 15,000 participants from 140 countries, including 1,300 international runners.
The organizing committee revealed in a press conference on Thursday at the Sheraton Doha Hotel the routes of the race categories - 42km, 21km, 10km and 5km and races up to 21 km for individuals with disabilities with free registration.
Starting at the Hotel Park, the racers traverse a route across the picturesque Doha Corniche, with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of sports and physical health.
Organizing Committee Vice Chairperson Sabah Rabiah Al Kuwari said the marathon which won the Gold Label from World Athletics for the second consecutive time has manifested a high-quality organization and commitment to international standards.
Al Kuwari added that large prizes have been allocated for the winners and a portion of the race proceeds will be allocated to support charitable organizations.
For her part, Organizing Committee Member and Director of Events Moza Khalid Al Mohannadi said that complete arrangements will make the event special for participants and sports fans, represented by accompanying events, and a race dedicated to the children's category that will precede the marathon and will be held on Thursday, January 16.
The accompanying events will include various entertainment shows, and participants will receive personal photos and videos immediately after the race ends, in addition to a timing certificate, to enhance the participation experience.
