As part of the cancer awareness campaign hosted by Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), students of Pakistan International School Qatar (PISQ) participated in a range of activities.
A seminar was held at the Arbab auditorium for the students of Grades X-XII. Hafsa Sajid and Maha Naeem, with the support of their biology teacher Nishat Wajid, provided an in-depth education on cancer awareness. The seminar focused on the prevention, early detection, and treatment of cancer, raising awareness among students.
To further engage students, posters reflecting the campaign’s theme ‘We Are Stronger Together’ were displayed throughout the school. These posters shared key facts on cancer prevention and the importance of early detection.
Ribbons, symbolising support for cancer patients, were also distributed. A student media team covered all campaign activities, ensuring the message reached a broader audience.
A fundraising drive and bake sale were held where students were encouraged to sell homemade baked goods, with proceeds going towards cancer research and patient support services.
The event not only raised funds but also reminded the community of the importance of supporting such causes.
Students played an active role in various aspects of the campaign. They helped design posters, write essays on cancer prevention, and organise the bake sale. Additionally, surveys were conducted to gather feedback on the campaign’s impact and ensure maximum participation.
