THE Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by the Department of Fish Wealth, opened a section for fresh local fish at Al Shehaniya Yard on Thursday morning.
The Director of Fish Wealth Department at the MME Abdulaziz al Dehaimi along with officials of the Agricultural Affairs department at the ministry attended the opening of the section.
The section features fresh local fish for sale. The objective behind the opening of the section is to promote sale of local fish while making fresh fish available to the customers.
The fishermen have also been provided with refrigerators, a fish cleaning area and a specialist veterinarian at the yard.
The local farm yards offer an opportunity to farmers, fishermen and livestock breeders to display their products in open places easily and without any additional costs. (TNN)
