WashingtoncTypeface:> More than a dozen countries across North, Central and South America have condemned the swearing-in of Venezuela’s authoritarian President Nicolás Maduro for a third term, following an election marred by allegations of fraud.

"We call on the dictatorial regime to restore democratic order and facilitate a peaceful transfer of power that respects the will of the people expressed in the elections,” they said in a joint statement shared on X late Wednesday.

The document was signed by the delegations to the Organization of American States (OAS) from Argentina, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, the United States, Jamaica, Guatemala, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and the Dominican Republic. (DPA)
