The Organising Committee of the Doha Marathon 2025 by Ooredoo has completed the arrangements for the launch of its 13th edition on Friday, with the participation of 15,000 competitors representing 140 countries, including 1,300 competitors from outside Qatar.

The marathon will begin in front of the Sheraton Park, featuring a 42km and 21km race, alongside 10km and 5km races along the Corniche with specific turns marking the race distance.

The event aims to promote awareness of the importance of physical fitness and sports.

The organising committee has made it possible for people from all segments of society to participate, with distances designed to accommodate different fitness levels. This year’s event will also feature athletes with disabilities competing in the 21km race.

The organisers aim for another successful edition, following the marathon’s achievement of the Gold Label from World Athletics for two consecutive years, recognizing its adherence to international race standards, including participation, safety measures, race distance, and timing accuracy.

The Qatar Athletics Federation is supervising the marathon to apply the correct standards in the distances, in addition to timekeepers approved by the Federation to control and record the numbers, while the Qatari Olympic and world champion Mutaz Barshim is expected to participate in launching the starting signal.

The President of the Qatar Athletics Federation, Mohammed Issa Al Fadala confirmed that the marathon will be one of the most important and best races due to the

distinguished participation of athletes from different countries, including champions and record holders in marathon and long-distance races.

Al Fadala added in his remarks that the Federation is ready to carry out its technical organizational role for the marathon, stressing the strength of the relationship and partnership with Ooredoo, noting that tomorrow’s edition will witness the participation of prominent names from international athletes.
