Elite Medical Centre (EMC), a state-of-the-art medical facility having comprehensive Minimal Access Gynaecological Surgery Unit was inaugurated in Doha recently.
The centre has a purpose built one-day surgery medical centre as well as fully equipped Paediatrics department to handle any emergency.
The opening of the centre is in line with the key objectives of Qatar's National Health Strategy to provide high-quality comprehensive healthcare system to the populace with consideration for the differing needs of men, women and children.
EMC has a fully-equipped radiology department, pharmacy and a comprehensive laboratory. In addition, EMC has six different departments - Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Dentistry, Dermatology and general practice.
The centre also features first fully-staffed private IVF Unit built and equipped with latest technology to provide an efficient treatment to infertile couples in Qatar.
"We, at EMC, aspire to become the leading medical centre in Qatar renowned for providing the best medical care with particular emphasis on quality and service. All our staff are carefully selected to reflect EMC's unique approach to healthcare," said Dr Osama Salha, EMC co-founder.
Salha has been working in the field of infertility since 1995, and in 1999, he became the first Arab doctor to be appointed as Sub-Specialist in Reproductive Medicine in Yorkshire, England. He was also the first Arab doctor to be awarded a PhD in Reproductive Medicine from the University of Leeds, England.
"We have established this healthcare institute with the sole objective of giving our clients an experience of excellent medical service in a luxurious atmosphere where they get the much needed dignity, respect and confidentiality," said Dr Nesrin El-Khatib, co-founder of EMS.
She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatricians, the Royal College of Physicians, London and Royal College of Physicians, Ireland.
She was chosen as the 'Young Clinician of the year' by Cleveland Clinic, USA, and won the Arab Health Award as the 'Young Clinician of the year in the Middle East' in 2012.
