Ambassador of Vietnam to State of Qatar HE Nguyen Huy Hiep, has commended the mediators, especially the leadership of Qatar, on their untiring efforts in halting the war in Gaza effective from today, Sunday.
In a statement, the envoy said that the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas reflects the great efforts of State of Qatar as well as of other active mediators. "The ceasefire agreement brings hope to the Gaza Strip whose people have suffered greatly and for too long. It is an important step for regional stability, a New Year gift to the world,” Hiep said.
The Vietnamese envoy said his country has been closely following the developments in the Gaza Strip, and warmly welcomes this positive development. Ambassador Hiep expressed hope that the agreement would be strictly and fully implemented by all parties, with the valuable support from the State of Qatar to achieve peace and security in the region.
The ceasefire agreement was signed between Israel and Hamas in Doha late on Wednesday evening thanks to the untiring mediation efforts led by Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar HE Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, who announced the historic agreement at a press conference in Doha.
