The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) will implement a traffic diversion along Al Luqta Street between the Tilted junction and Al Gharrafa Interchange to facilitate the construction of a new tunnel on Al Bustan North project, part of Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor.
The road layout change will start on Friday, March 29, 2019 and remain in place for a year.
During the diversion, designed in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, a new two-lane road parallel to Al Luqta Street will replace the existing diversion and steel bridge. Road users heading from the Tilted Junction towards Al Gharrafa Interchange and vice versa will be diverted to the new parallel road.
Ashghal will install road signs advising motorists of the traffic shift. It has requested all road users to abide by the speed limit of 50 kph. (TNN)
