The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has signed a significant concession agreement with the Economic Zones Company (Manateq) to manage the Small and MediumIndustries Zone. The signing ceremony, which took place on Sunday at the ministry’s headquarters in Lusail, was attended by senior officials including assistant undersecretaries from the ministry, Manateq CEO Eng Mohammad Lutfalla Al Emadi and other representatives from both sides.
Representing the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Abdulla Ghanim Al Maadeed, industrial development director, signed the agreement, while Hamad Jar Allah Al Marri, chief operations officer signed on behalf of Manateq.
The 25-year renewable agreement entrusts ‘Manateq’ with the management and operation of the Small and Medium Industries Zone. Under this agreement, the company will develop and implement comprehensive development plans, oversee execution, provide essential services, and maintain infrastructure to ensure operational efficiency. Manateq is also tasked with adhering to specified land use, approved standards, and performance benchmarks.
Furthermore, the agreement permits Manateq to lease and promote lands within the zone for approved activities. It also allows the company to establish operational procedures and enter into contracts with qualified entities to provide required services. The ministry retains oversight responsibilities to ensure that all factories comply with technical and construction standards in collaboration with other stakeholders.
Highlighting the importance of the agreement, Assistant Undersecretary for Industrial Affairs and Business Development at MoCI Saleh Majid Al Khulaifi said, “The signing of this agreement underscores the ministry’s commitment to enhancing the role of small and medium industries as key drivers of economic growth and vital components of industrial diversification. This initiative aligns with the Qatar National Manufacturing Strategy 2024–2030 and Qatar National Vision 2030 by fostering an advanced investment environment that supports the industrial sector.”
Expressing enthusiasm about the collaboration, Al Emadi said, “We are delighted to sign this agreement, which reflects a long-term strategic partnership with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. This milestone enhances Manateq’s position as a premier destination for industrial investment in Qatar.
