DOHA: Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) organised the Digital Leadership event, which aims to lay a solid foundation to ensure a successful digital transformation and unify systems under one cohesive vision, and follow up on the latest trends and innovations in the field of services provided by the corporation.
During the event, interactive and discussion sessions were held on the requirements of digital transformation to achieve the organization’s goals, success stories of service organizations in the field, and their experiences in the technology and services sector.
Eng Abdullah bin Ali Al-Dhiyab, Chairman of Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation, stressed that Kahramaa’s digital strategy emerged from its long-term strategy in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, indicating that through Kahramaa’s digital strategy, there will be outputs and initiatives whose features will become clear during the remaining months of this year, and they will be implemented and applied during the coming stages.
He said that the project will be structured in five phases, starting with an in-depth assessment of the current state of the organization, to designing a digital operating model and a change management plan, supported by an executable roadmap, adding that the project will focus on developing the strategy in the first nine months and implementation in the period that follows.
He noted that Kahramaa is now in the fourth month of this project to assess the digital situation, identify the basic needs of its business, and review national and institutional strategies.
The main focus now is on completing the digital strategy and laying the foundation for a transformational journey in the future. Among the goals of these aspirations is the establishment of the Digital Transformation Office, a central office that will support Kahramaa during the implementation of this journey, to ensure alignment and coordination at every step.
