The Filipino Bowlers Association–Qatar (FBAQ), a non-profit socio-sport organisation, recently announced the winners of its 2024 Bowler of the Year competition, held on January 17, at the Qatar Bowling Centre. The association also kicked off its ‘68th Season Friday League’ on January 24, at the Qatar Bowling Centre.
Throughout the year, FBAQ fosters a vibrant community of bowlers, and at the end of each year, the association organizes a competition to crown the ‘Bowler of the Year’. Meanwhile, the league provides a great opportunity for anyone looking to relax, unwind, and enjoy a weekend activity.
FBAQ was established on July 25, 2003. Although primarily a Filipino organization, FBAQ welcomes members of all nationalities, whether residents or visitors in Qatar, who are passionate about bowling.
At the end of each year, FBAQ organizes a competition featuring divisions for Ladies, Class A, Class B, and Class C bowlers who have previously won the "Bowler of the Month” title. These bowlers then compete for the prestigious "Bowler of the Year” award.
With 2024 now concluded, FBAQ recently held its Bowler of the Year competition. After six closely contested games, four players emerged victorious and were hailed as champions:
In the Ladies’ Division, Leafar Lyn Santiago claimed the Champion title, with Eli Salgado and Novalyn Escalante finishing as 1st and 2nd runners-up, respectively.
In the Men’s Division (Class A), Ronald Seguritan took home the Champion title, followed by Ronald Bolanos as 1st Runner-up and Daryl Ng as 2nd Runner-up.
In the Men’s Division (Class B), Roberto Lopez was crowned Champion, with Ariel Lontok and Danilo Solano securing the 1st and 2nd runner-up positions.
Finally, in the Men’s Division (Class C), Oliver Mills emerged as the Champion, while Kyle Hennigan and Ricky Sadim were named 1st and 2nd runners-up.
