THE Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME), Qatar chapter, organised its first general membership meeting of the year and a seminar at the Hilton Doha on Friday. With the theme ‘United PSME: An organisation dedicated to building professional and world class mechanical engineers’, the event is aimed at enhancing the services of the professional group to its members.
PSME President 2019 Engr Diosdado G. Gamayao delivered the welcome address at the meeting while Philippine Labour Attache to Qatar David Des Dicang gave the keynote speech. The event also featured the induction of new members, presentation of sponsors (Jersey Group, Filcom, Qad-Net, Shaft WLL and Megaworld International) and a technical seminar conducted by Dr Reynaldo B Castillo. The main organisers of the event were Engr Rogelio C Dios Jr (committee chairman), Engr Mishael T Serben (commissioner), Engr Sherwin D. Olimpo (assistant commissioner) and Engr Diosdado G Gamayao (overall chairman).
PSME, Qatar Chapter, has been active in Qatar since 2008. It endeavours to unite all practitioners for the exclusive purpose of advancing the arts and science of mechanical engineering, the allied arts and science and related human factors for the benefit of the general public. It also aims to provide a venue for its members to participate and contribute to the social, economic and industrial growth of the country. Similarly, the group, which is one of the most active Filipino professional groups in Qatar, aspires to become the best provider of services to its members for them to become excellent performers in their profession, valuable contributors to national development and effective channels of global technology transfer.
PSME’s upcoming event includes seminars scheduled for April 12 and April 26, May 3 and May 10 and June 6. It is also slated to hold its second general membership meeting on June 28.
