Ahmed Zayed al Shammari continues his golden form as he claimed the 25m Standard Pistol title at the Amir Cup Shooting and Archery Championships on Monday.
At the Losail Ranges, Shammari finished the event with 563, including nine hits for 10 points and above, to take his gold medal tally to an impressive three.
Morshed Ali Hassan secured the silver medal quite comfortably, collecting 553 with nine shots in the bull’s eye. Misfer Rashid al Marri was placed third when he posted 521.
Marri and Mohammed Hassan al Tamimi were locked for the bronze medal as they hit the same score. But the former was declared winner for shots in the centre (9-3). Osama Nasser al Shaiba got the fifth spot with 512.
Shammari said he always tries to give his 100 percent and this is helping him win the titles. “I’m very delighted to have won another event. I’m confident after a great deal of efforts before the championships and that is paying off now.
“All the shooters are tough and the competition is quite difficult. I am pleased with my rich form and hope to continue my touch,” added Shammari after the prize distribution.
