Luis Enrique insisted Paris St Germain are not getting caught up in the permutations of the final Champions League match day and are only focused on winning their clash against Stuttgart.

The league stage of the competition concludes on Wednesday and with 10 points each, both teams are looking to cement their spot in the knockout phase.

Following a pulsating second-half performance to come from behind and beat Manchester City last week, PSG now sit two points above City and Dinamo Zagreb but are still at risk if those two teams win their matches.

Although a point against Stuttgart should be enough for PSG to go through given Dinamo’s poor goal difference, Luis Enrique admitted he is not prepared to leave anything to chance.

He told a press conference: "Experience tells me that when someone is keeping an eye on what is going on off the pitch, they stop doing what they need to do on the pitch, which means we will not leave it to chance.

"We are going out there to win, which would improve our league position - that is our target.

"It is clear that there are so many permutations on the last match day, but we are not going to get involved in that.”

PSG’s Champions League campaign got off to a winning start with a 1-0 victory over Girona, but they were plunged into trouble after only picking up one point from their next four fixtures.

Their fightback included crucial back-to-back wins against Salzburg and City to stay in contention and Luis Enrique is looking for more of the same on Wednesday.

"If you play for PSG there is pressure every day, and if there isn’t, it is the coach’s problem,” he added.

"No player tomorrow will have their eye off the ball, we are all aware what we are playing for here. Everyone knows that we haven’t achieved anything yet.

"We need to win tomorrow to be sure of a place in the next round.

Then we will see what situations come up.

"We don’t need to prepare for tomorrow’s game in a different way. We need to prepare just as we did against Girona in the first game.

"Tomorrow is the last league match so the target is the same. We want to repeat what we do every day and be a better team in every competition and every match.”
