The Omani media continues to celebrate the state visit of His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the Sultanate of Oman, through extensive coverage and wide attention.

Omani media outlets, led by the state television and local newspapers, have highlighted the dimensions of the visit and its political and economic significance, praising the deep historical and fraternal ties between the two countries.

Oman TV covered the grand reception accorded to HH the Amir upon his arrival in the Sultanate, where he was received by senior Omani officials, in a scene that reflects the strength of bilateral relations between the two countries.

As part of its coverage of the visit, Oman TV aired several reports about the State of Qatar, highlighting its history and prominent tourist attractions.

In a report, Oman TV described Omani-Qatari relations as a reflection of hearts united in harmony.

It said that the visit of HH the Amir to the Sultanate of Oman and his meeting with HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq is a testament to the deep and strong ties between the two brotherly nations. It reaffirms the ongoing journey of integration and harmony, fostering mutual understanding in its political, economic, and social dimensions.

In another report, Oman TV praised the deep history of Qatar and the circumstances surrounding the establishment of the State, saying that Qatar’s tribes have clung to their land throughout time, traversing its entire expanse by land and sea, defying the harshness of nature and scarce resources, relying on the bounties bestowed by both the sea and the land from the Creator.

The report showcased old and recent photos of Qatar, illustrating the scale of the significant renaissance and developmental transformation the country has undergone since its establishment to the present day.

The television also aired another report about Doha and its tourist attractions, stating that the city of Doha welcomes its visitors with a smile and the spirit of Arab hospitality, amidst an atmosphere of comfort and profound hospitality.

For his part, former Omani Ambassador to Qatar HE Mohammed bin Nasser Al Wahaibi praised the significance of HH the Amir’s visit to the Sultanate of Oman, emphasizing that it will open new horizons for bilateral relations and strengthen their path in various fields. He noted that the relations between the two countries go beyond official dimensions, reaching deep into popular ties, thereby reinforcing the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation.

Al Wahaibi pointed out that there are strategic partnerships between the two nations, which are already yielding results through Qatari investment projects in Oman, such as the “Karwa” bus production project, along with other ventures in tourism, food security, and real estate. He affirmed that this partnership has the potential to expand in the future.

For his part, a member of the Omani State Council, Engineer Mohammed bin Abu-Bakar Al Ghassani emphasized that Omani-Qatari relations are based on several common denominators of mutual interest and respect, and on the values of sincere brotherhood between the Qatari and Omani peoples.

Al Ghassani stated that these strong and solid ties between Qatar and Oman have been reflected in their joint cooperation across various fields. He noted that during His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq’s visit to Qatar in 2021, several agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed, which have translated into reality and have been reflected in highly promising figures. The trade exchange levels between the two countries are expected to reach $2.6 billion by the end of last year, with the trade balance skewed in favor of Qatar, approximately 83%, amounting to $2.1 billion, compared to about $450 million for Omani exports to Qatar, he explained.

Qatari investments in Oman exceeded $1.9 billion by November of last year, describing this as an excellent and highly encouraging figure. He affirmed that there are vast and promising prospects for increasing the volume of these investments across various fields, particularly in tourism and logistics, he added.

The Omani academic advisor Nasser Al Jahwari said that the historic visit of HH the Amir to the Sultanate of Oman reflects the deep-rooted Omani-Qatari relations throughout history.

In an interview with Oman TV, Al Jahwari said that the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar are committed to wise diplomatic efforts that ensure national, regional, and humanitarian interests, making them pillars of stability in the region. Regarding economic aspects, the relations are witnessing significant development thanks to agreements and memorandums of cooperation in the fields of trade, energy, investment, education, culture, and youth.

He stated that the brotherly State of Qatar is a key partner for the Sultanate of Oman in major developmental projects such as infrastructure development, energy, and natural raw materials. Socially, the relations between the Omani and Qatari peoples reflect great harmony, which is evident in joint cultural events and mutual participation in various fields such as arts, sports, and others, further strengthening the shared Gulf identity.

Al Jahwari said that the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar follow very similar and aligned policies in many aspects, noting that the political coordination between the two countries plays a significant role in ensuring the stability of the Gulf region and the broader area.

The newspaper pointed out that the session began with His Majesty welcoming HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation, and wishing them a pleasant stay in the Sultanate their second home, among their brothers and people.

The paper noted that during the session, the two sides discussed bilateral relations of cooperation, understanding, and brotherhood, as well as existing partnerships and investment areas, and explored opportunities to expand and strengthen them, stressing that this would contribute to achieving sustainable economic development and open new horizons for growth and economic integration between Oman and Qatar, in line with the aspirations of both peoples. The talks also addressed current regional and international issues, their future repercussions on the region, and efforts to enhance security, stability, and support for peace processes, based on the shared visions of both countries on various regional and global matters.
