Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations HE Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani met with Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Philippe Lazzarini at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
During the meeting, Sheikha Alya stressed that UNRWA plays a pivotal and indispensable role and represents the backbone of providing humanitarian assistance to the brotherly Palestinian people.
She renewed Qatar’s firm commitment to continue its political and financial support for the agency.
For his part, the commissioner-general expressed deep appreciation for the political and financial support provided by Qatar to UNRWA at various levels to ensure the continuation of efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of Palestinian refugees.
