Doha Bu Thaila, piloted by Soufiane Saadi, maintained her unbeaten run in Qatar, clinching a third consecutive win to secure the Al Waab Cup at Al Uqda Racecourse on Wednesday.
Wathnan Racing’s four-year-old filly, trained by Alban de Mieulle, fought fiercely to edge out Lulwat Al Faisal by a neck in a gripping 1400m Local Thoroughbred Handicap feature. The victory sealed a double for Saadi, who earlier guided Osama Al Dafea-trained Ginkeau to triumph in the Purebred Arabian Handicap 75-95 (Class 3) race.
Meanwhile, Nasser Saeed Al Eida’s Gold Fleece delivered another stellar performance, claiming her second straight win and the Keheilah Al Ajouz Cup in the 2100m Thoroughbred Open Race for fillies and mares. The nine-year-old mare, trained by Jassim Ghazali and ridden by Marco Casamento, scored two-and-a-half-length victory.
