Hussain Khan will lead Qatar in the ACC Western Region Under-19 Cricket Tournament, which is scheduled to start in the UAE on Friday. The final is slated for May 3.
The 14-player team, which left Doha on Wednesday afternoon, is placed in Group B and will face a strong Oman in the opening match at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. In all, five venues will be used to hold the matches. Other four grounds are: Dubai International Stadium (DIS), Eden Gardens Ajman (Ajman), Academy Dubai (ICCA ICC) and Sevens Cricket Ovals Dubai (Sevens)
Qatar Cricket Association President Yousuf Jeham al Kuwari wished good luck to the captain, players and officials. “We’re very pleased to send a competent and competitive team that will make Qatar proud in the ACC Western Region Under-19 Cricket Tournament. Just play hard, enjoy matches and I wish good luck to the entire squad.”
QCA Operations Manager Manzoor Ahmad said in the release, “Besides the players, four officials are also accompanying the team. Shahid Mahboob is the Team Manager, while Qamar Sadiq has been named the Coach. Omran Hussain and Aminul Islam are the Trainer and Coordinator, respectively. We tried our best to prepare the team for this important championship and we’re optimistic about getting good results.”
Along with Qatar and Oman, the six other participating teams are: the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iran, the Maldives and Kuwait. The teams have been divided into two groups. The Group A consists of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Iran. The Group B is composed of Oman, Qatar, the Maldives and Kuwait

Hussain Khan (Captain), Shubh Agarwal, Dhanitha, Syed Yousuf Tameem, Solaiman, Fateen Suhail, Afsarullah, Bismillah Khan, Sheikh Jassim, Saud Kamal, Mohammaz Azam, Samil, Zayan and Suyash.
