THE Amiri Guard School celebrated conclusion of the training season 2018-2019 with the graduation of cadets in six basic courses (security and VIP protection, close protection, self-defence, rapid intervention, intelligence security and training Amiri Guard trainers) at the Hasniyeh camp.
Held under the patronage and in the presence of the Commander of the Amiri Guard Major General Hazza bin Khalil al Shahwani, the graduation ceremony was attended by the deputy commander of the Amiri Guard, the inspector-general, assistant commander of the Amiri Guard, as well as a number of departmental heads and group leaders, Oman’s military attache, British military attache and officers from the armed forces.
The close protection course, which was carried out for the first time in cooperation with the British Royal Military Police Close Protection Unit, is one of the important courses that contribute to the acquiring different combat skills.
The 9-week course included a watch tower training between the Amiri Guard and the British Royal Military Police, and aims to exchange experiences, qualify and develop trainees’ skills in securing and protecting personalities.
The trainees demonstrated several skills learnt during their training reflecting the combat readiness of the Amiri Guard.
