Qatargas was recently awarded the Qatarisation Certificate at the Annual Qatarisation Review Meeting of the Energy and Industry Sector in Qatar.
The prestigious certificate was awarded to Qatargas in recognition of the company’s valued “Support and Liaison with the Education Sector” during 2018, the company said in a statement on Saturday.
Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President & CEO of Qatar Petroleum, Chairman of Qatargas HE Saad Sherida al Kaabi presented the certificate to Qatargas CEO Khalid bin Khalifa al Thani.
The certificate recognised Qatargas’ contribution to the education sector through a wide range of activities and programmes that included internship programmes, outreach campaigns, partnerships with the education community, and numerous other initiatives.
Khalid said, “Qatargas is committed to developing employees and fostering a culture of learning, innovation, and excellence. In particular, we are proud to develop talented national employees, and ensure that they acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in key roles within Qatargas.”
During 2018, the company hosted 14 interns from a variety of disciplines in line with its policy of strategic Qatarisation planning.
Qatargas also visited 17 schools across Qatar to create awareness of the many career opportunities available for national graduates and trainees. Furthermore, Qatargas attended the Qatar Foundation Networking Event held late last year to reiterate the company’s commitment to the education sector in Qatar, the statement said.
