More than a hundred children of different nationalities participated in the Garangao celebrations hosted by the Ibn Ajayan Projects (IAP) at Asian Town.
Various events and competitions in drawing, painting and storytelling were held as part of the celebrations, which is observed across Qatar on the 14th night of the holy month of Ramadan.
While winners of each of the competitions went home with trophies and gifts, certificates and Garangao bags were handed out to each of the participants.
Sofia Shehzeen Shaikh, Bhuvi and Zaida Zara Rasikwon bagged the first, second and third places respectively in the junior category of the drawing and painting competitions for children of three to six years of age.
Similarly, Viha Barath, Shamitha Adiga and Ziya Fathima Rasik won the first three places in the sub junior category for seven to 10 year-old contestants.
In the senior category for 11- to 15-year-old children, Jhalak Akhilesh Banzal, Manha Minar and Pranav Saiwon claimed the top three spots.
For the storytelling competition, Ziya Fathima Rasik, Aafia Zoeya Shaikh and S Varsha claimed the top honours.
