The Ministry of Interior (MoI) is all set to organise Eid Al-Fitr Infotainment Celebration for expatriate communities on the first day of Eid at Asian Town, Asian Accommodation City (Labour City) and Barwa Baraha in Industrial Area, and on the first and second days of Eid at Barwa Workers Recreation Complex in Al Khor.
The celebrations in Barwa properties are being organised in collaboration with Barwa Group.
The Eid celebrations, which will be held from 5 pm to 10 pm, will include musical and traditional thematic shows, magic shows and cultural performances by community orchestra teams and school students.
Safety and security related awareness programmes by different departments of the MoI such as Traffic, Al Fazaa Police, Civil Defence, Community Policing Department, Search and Follow up Department, Drugs Enforcement Department and Human Rights Department will be another major attraction. Special prizes will be gifted for the audience throughout the programmes.
Events in Doha Industrial Area: Popular Asian orchestra teams will perform musical events in multiple languages including Hindi, Urdu, Sinhalese, Nepali, Malayalam, Tamil and Bangladeshi in Asian Town (cricket stadium parking area), Labour City (football ground) and Barwa Baraha (football ground).
Students from Asian schools in Qatar will participate in the fiesta with various cultural shows. The participating schools include MES Indian School, Bhavans Public School, Ideal Indian School, Olive International School and Shantiniketan School.
A variety of events from magic show and songs in Hindi, Bangladeshi, Nepalese and Bhojpuri, and thematic shows will be staged to entertain the people on Eid day along with educative awareness programmes.
Events in Al KhorcTracking:> Sports competitions, orchestra troupes and artistes will perform in Al Khor Barwa Workers Recreation Complex located in Al Khor industrial area on the first and second days of Eid.
These activities are conducted with the aim of providing a safer environment for the members of the expat communities residing in Qatar including the employees and workers of the companies, and are organised to enhance and strengthen cooperation and communication between the MoI and expatriates in Qatar.
The MoI has invited all members of expatriate communities to attend the events and urged the managements of the companies to make necessary arrangements to send maximum numbers of the workers to different programmes. The entry to all venues is free, except at the Labor City where the entry is restricted for the city residents only.
The MoI has been organising cultural events and awareness programmes for the expatriate communities on various national occasions such as Eid Al Fitr, Eid Al Adha and Qatar National Day for the last several years.
