The Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani was accorded an official reception by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday evening.
The ceremony began with the rendering of the national anthems of Qatar and Pakistan. HH the Amir then inspected the guard of honour. A formation of JF 17 fighter jets also took part in the reception ceremony.
HH the Emir then planted a pine tree in the garden to express the strong relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
Earlier in the day, HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation were welcomed at the Noor Khan Air Base airport by Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Special Adviser to the Prime Minister for Foreign Affairs Zulfi Bukhari, Qatar’s Ambassador to Pakistan HE Saqr bin Mubarak al Mansouri, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar HE Syed Ahsan Raza Shah were also present at the airport to greet the Amir.
The artillery fired 21 rounds upon the arrival of HH the Amir.
