THE Doha chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) commemorated the International Yoga Day recently by hosting an interactive yoga session for its members at Birla Public School (BPS).
The event was attended by around 70 people including chapter members, their spouses and students.
The session was conducted by yoga practitioner at the Indian Embassy Ashish Gahlawat. He conducted basic yoga exercises which can be practised daily along with breathing techniques that relax the mind and the body. Captain Kapil Kaushik, the defence attache at the Indian Embassy, was the chief guest for the event. In his keynote address, Capt Kaushik highlighted the health benefits of yoga and its growing popularity across the world.
Earlier, ICAI Doha chapter chairperson CA Rukkaiya Pachisa welcomed the members while the vote of thanks was proposed by chapter vice chairman CA Sandeep Chowdhary.
The Doha chapter of ICAI, which was established in 1981, is the oldest of the 33 overseas chapters of the ICAI.
