Returning from a long injury can be a long and tedious road for a football player especially one who is a ball dominant midfileder. South Korean midfielder Nam Tae-hee suffered such during an international friendly while playing for his national team in November last year.
The 28-year-old having won five QNB Star League and was part of the dominant Al Duhail treble-winning team of the 2017/18 season moved to league rivals Al Sadd on a three-year deal, while still injured in February.
Speaking to Al Sadd website http://al-saddclub.com on his expectations for the season, the former Qatar League Player of the Year said the team’s goal is to keep fighting for championships.
“We have one goal; winning championships and we will fight for that. I am in good shape after the injury and I will be better before the season starts,” Nam said.
“I spent seven months in rehab after the injury and now I have joined a good team, I need more time to get used to the team, but everything is going well and I will be ready.
“I hope to show the best level with the team when I have the opportunity to participate.”
The South Korean added that he is looking forward to representing Al Sadd.
“It is a great honour for me to join Al Sadd Club and I am happy with this move.
“We have a good team of players who can win the AFC Champions League, an excellent team and a great management. It will be a long season, but we have a goal and we will fight to win all the tournaments,” he said.
Nam scored the equalising goal for The Wolves in their pre-season game against Spanish side Palamos and hailed Xavi’s influence on the team.
“Working with Xavi is good. He teaches us a lot of things. As I said before, I’m happy to join this group. The players are good with me, they welcomed me and I could easily fit in with them. The camp is more than wonderful and excellent.
“I am very happy to join Al Sadd and I thank the fans for their support. We will work hard together to achieve positive results and win all titles and you will see this clearly on the pitch,” he said.
