PREPARATIONS for the first Doha concert of Filipino singers Juan "JK” Karlos and Kat Velarde next month are in full swing, according to Doha City Event Management CEO and Managing Director Victor Magnipes.
Speaking to the local media on Monday, Magnipes said that they are hoping to attract Filipino youth and families,as well as other music lovers to the event titled ‘Summer Jam in Qatar 2019’, which will be staged at Al Jewan Hall of Al Dana Club on August 9.
The concert is produced by DC Event in partnership with July Dela Cruz.
"We want to be part of the thriving event management industry in Qatar. Before our re-branding, we have already produced a number of successful events for the community. This year, our focus is on bringing some of the best talents of the Philippines to Qatar to promote our music scene and at the same time to provide quality entertainment for the Doha audience.
Producing a show is not an easy task but we, Filipinos, are known for our creativity, attention to details and dedication to our craft. And those qualities are what set apart DC Event from other event management companies in the country”, said Magnipes.
In January, DC Event brought to Qatar the World Tour of Philippine Pop Star Sarah Geronimo. It was followed by the Middle East tour of Philippine concert king Martin Nievera and Asia’s nightingale LaniMisalucha held in June. Magnipes reiterated the mission of DC Event to continue to celebrate Filipino talents.
"JK and Katrina are among the most sought after performers in our country today. Katrina is also widely popular among international voice coaches and reactors on Youtube. JK’s song ‘Buwan’ is a mega hit. We believe they are a perfect combination on stage”,Magnipes added.
Around 2000 people are expected to watch the Summer Jam in Qatar 2019. Aside from the featured artists, the concert will also feature Doha-based talents including Beats & Bytes New Breed and Verve dance groups.
