Abu DHABI: An Emirati court sentenced three people to death for the kidnapping and killing of an Israeli rabbi last year in the Gulf country, the state news agency WAM reported on Monday.
The body of Israeli-Moldovan rabbi Zvi Kogan was found in November in the United Arab Emirates after his family said he went missing. Media reports at the time said he lived in the UAE and ran a kosher supermarket in Dubai.
The defendants were sentenced “for the premeditated murder with terrorist intention,” WAM reported.
The UAE’s Interior Ministry said in November that three people arrested for the murder were Uzbek citizens.
The court gave a fourth defendant a life sentence over his connection to the murder. (DPA)
