tribune news networkdohaThe MES Indian School hosted a week-long ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ festival to commemorate India’s 75th year of independence. With the school reopening after the summer break, there were a slew of activities aligned with this celebration of progressive India, engaging students under the theme ‘Nation First, Always First’ to celebrate India’s rich culture and history and enhance their feelings of patriotism, love, and respect for their country.The activities includes drawing and coloring the Indian national flag and three national symbols, watching a video presentation about national leaders, and presenting a PowerPoint presentation about the significance of Independence Day, the national flag, emblems, and national leaders. Slogan writing, painting competition, Independence Day Special Supplement, Independence Day quiz, poem writing on the topic ‘The person of my inspiration,’ essay writing on the topic ‘Our Heroes; Our Pride,’ costume presentation with messages, and mega collage making were among the activities. Each event was designed to demonstrate the magnitude of sacrifices made by the nation for its independence, as well as the progress accomplished on all fronts.Students eagerly participated in activities that sparked their patriotic feelings. Teachers briefed the students about India’s wonderful past, the freedom struggle, and the sacrifices of freedom fighters.
