Road cycling world champion Tadej Pogacar won the 2025 Tour of Flanders on Sunday. He added a second Tour of Flanders title to his two Liege-Bastogne-Liege and four Giro di Lombardia wins, to put him on to eight monuments - joint sixth on the all-time list. The monuments are five classic races considered to be the oldest, hardest, longest and most prestigious one-day events in men’s road cycling. Pogacar, however, had to work hard for his latest triumph, with other teams doing a good job to put him under pressure early. He only went clear for good on the penultimate climb of the race to beat second-placed Mads Pendersen by 1 minute 01 second. "I couldn’t be more proud of the team, the way we rode today. I’m so happy to win in this jersey,” Pogacar said. (DPA)
