AS part of the India-Qatar Year of Culture-2019, a three-member Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR)-empanelled cultural troupe will be performing in Qatar aiming to mesmerise the Doha audience with their musical symphony.
The Embassy of India, in partnership with Katara Cultural Village, will present ‘An Evening of Hindustani Instrumental Music’ at 7pm at Drama Theatre, Building 16, Katara Cultural Village, on Monday (August 26).
The Embassy of India, in partnership with Indian Cultural Centre, will be holding the second performance of the event at the Ashoka Hall of Indian Cultural Centre at 7pm on August 27.
The embassy, in partnership with Indian Society Dukhan, will stage the third performance at Dukhan Cinema, Dukhan, on August 28.
The musical evening will comprise interactive narrations through innovative rhythmic dialogue on percussion instruments.
The energetic troupe includes among others eminent Sarod (an Indian string instrument) player Debasmita Bhattacharya. Bhattacharya is one of India’s finest young Sarod players whose musical journey began at the tender age of four years and who has received numerous accolades and awards.
Other performers are tanpura (stringed instrument) player Sangita Bhattacharya and avid table player Debajit Patitundi.
