DOHA: The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, has won four distinguished awards in the 14th edition of the Arab Future Programmers Competition, organised by the College of Information Technology at the Applied Science Private University in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on April 18 and 19, with the participation of 80 teams from various Arab countries.

The ministry participated in the competition with five student teams, comprising 14 male and female students from eight Qatari schools. The students qualified for the finals after winning the second edition of the National Olympiad for Programming and Artificial Intelligence, held in January 2025. The students underwent an intensive training camp organized by the Ministry, which included 32 hours of specialized training in programming skills, problem-solving, and analyzing programming challenges using several programming languages, with the aim of preparing them to compete in regional competitions with competence and distinction.

Qatar's participation yielded impressive results, with Yousef Jassim Al-Harami, a student from the Religious Preparatory and Secondary Institute for Boys, winning the gold medal, alongside Abdullah Hamad Al-Qahtani and Faraj Abdullah Faraj from the Qatar Science and Technology School for Boys. The team received a partial scholarship to study at the College of Information Technology at the university organizing the competition.

Two Qatari teams also won silver medals. The first team included students Jassim Sultan Al-Marikhi and Abdulrahman Kaiden from Abdullah Bin Ali Al-Misnad Secondary School for Boys, and Adam Mohammed Ararawi from the Religious Preparatory Secondary Institute for Boys. The second team included students Yassin Moez Al-Raboudi from Tariq Bin Ziyad Secondary School for Boys, and Rashid Hamad Al-Maliki and Ayman Ansari Tangori from Jassim Bin Hamad Secondary School for Boys.

In an additional achievement, students Issa Khalid Al Balushi and Azzam Mahdi Al Qahtani from Ibn Sina Secondary School for Boys won bronze.

The Arab Future Coders Competition is one of the most prominent platforms for fostering student programming talent across the Arab world, contributing to the discovery of a generation proficient in modern technology tools and computational thinking skills. The awards achieved by Qatari students this year reflect their level of excellence and excellent preparation, strengthening Qatar's position in regional educational and technical forums.

This participation comes as part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to develop students' skills in creative and critical thinking and problem-solving, in line with the country's digital transformation efforts and the preparation of a creative and competitive generation capable of effectively contributing to the future of innovation and technology.
