New DELHIcColor:> Indian and Pakistani forces again exchanged fire along the border in the disputed region of Kashmir overnight, Indian media reported on Saturday.

Public broadcaster All India Radio cited a statement by the Indian military saying that Pakistani soldiers fired “unprovoked” shots, with Indian forces responding. Islamabad has not confirmed the incident, and there have been no reports of casualties on either side. The exchange comes one night after Pakistan reported shots by Indian soldiers in the region of Leepa. The latest incidents follow a deadly attack in the Indian-administered part of Kashmir earlier last week, resulting in the death of 26 tourists and bringing the two countries to the brink of another conflict.
