Barahat Msheireb is the heart of Msheireb Downtown Doha, the world’s smartest and most sustainable fully built city district, developed by Msheireb Properties.
Barahat Msheireb takes its name from the word ‘Al Baraha’ in Arabic, which means an open space for socialisation and networking. It is developed to be the centre point of the district offering 11 niche retail and al fresco casual and fine dining options, anchored by the Cultural Forum building and the luxurious Mandarin Oriental, Doha hotel.
This piazza-style square is the largest open-air covered square in the Middle East featuring the biggest retractable roof in the region. Supported by innovative cool pool systems for circulating chilled air, Barahat Msheireb will offer customers the chance to dine outside even during the hottest summer months as well as throughout the year, enabling visitors to frequent and enjoy the square all year round.
Barahat Msheireb is a fantastic destination for everyone to stroll and bask in the glory of this historic location in Doha. Outlets have started opening their doors, as last week witnessed the soft opening of ‘Sassana’, a restaurant presenting “authentic Qatari dishes with a modern edge”.
With a total area of almost 7,000 sqm, Barahat Msheireb is designed to host lively events in collaboration with private and public organisations, attracting people once again to enjoy life at the heart of Msheireb Downtown Doha. Barahat Msheireb’s state-of-the-art sound and light equipment makes it a prime location for national celebrations and public and private events. Previously, the Barahat Msheireb was lit up in the color blue to mark World Autism Day and a breath-taking sound and light show took place in the square last December in celebration of Qatar National Day. More events are planned over the next upcoming months.
