TehrancTypeface:> Another explosion has struck Iran, just days after a deadly blast at a southern port left dozens dead.
Two people were killed and one seriously injured in a warehouse explosion on Tuesday morning in an industrial area near the city of Isfahan, the state news agency IRNA reported.
The cause of the blast remains unclear. The facility belongs to a fireworks manufacturer that, according to its own statements, has produced items for military use in the past. The area is known to host parts of Iran’s arms industry.
Saturday’s explosion at the Shahid Rajaee port killed at least 70 people and injured more than 1,000. While authorities initially attributed that blast to inadequate safety measures, experts and social media users have raised the possibility of sabotage. (DPA)
