Qatar’s seasoned showjumping rider Faleh Suwead al Ajami made his presence felt in Round 2 of the Longines Qatar Equestrian Tour Hathab 2019-20 on Saturday as he claimed the Big Tour title with a flawless show on his horse Carport at Al Shaqab on Saturday evening.
Ajami, who won the HH The Amir’s Sword Championship 2019 earlier this year, needed only 38.15 & 41.99secs respectively to top the Table A, Special two phases, Art. 274.2.5 (130/145cm) class, ahead of the leg 1 winner Mohammed Sultan al Suwaidi, who was again on his favourite mount Happy Feet.
Salmeen Sultan al Suwaidi on Aslan 69 claimed the third place with a time of 52.98secs.
In the Open Class (Table A, One round against the clock, Art. 238.2.1 | 110/115cm), Salmeen Sultan al Suwiadi, riding Guilder’s Empire of the Sun, emerged on top in 52.98secs.
He prevailed over Salman Mohammed al Emadi, who rode Best of Des Forets and took 54.61secs.
Mohammed Khalifa al Baker and his horse Arselina, who had won the class in the opening round, this time were pushed to third place clocking 55.85secs.
The dressage Level 1 and Level 2 competitions saw the seasoned Jessica Waldon (on Lusso Del Castegno), and Iris Nijboer on Amber top the scores and finish first in their respective events.
