Gulf Warehousing Company (GWC), the leading logistics provider in the State of Qatar, recently held a ceremony to mark achieving 730 days without lost time injury (LTI) at the company’s Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC) West Side Service Area (WSSA) facility, reflecting team work and operational excellence under the highest safety standards of those working at the facility.
The ceremony on Thursday was attended by senior members of GWC management as well as a guest speaker from one of the facility’s biggest clients, who addressed around 250 company employees, GWC said in a statement on Saturday.
The event also highlighted the company’s continuing campaign summarised by the safety slogan: “One Team, One Goal, Zero Incident – I’m Committed”.
“The safety of our people, our facilities, and our clients’ goods is paramount in everything we do,” stated GWC Senior Director of Commercial Services Naji Nassar. “This achievement in Ras Laffan is a reflection of this commitment to hold ourselves to the highest levels of occupational health and safety.”
The RLIC WSSA facility is one of GWC’s specialised hubs that offer logistics and supply chain solutions for the oil and gas sector including warehousing, distribution, pipe yards and inspection facilities.
The company offers these services in accordance with the highest quality, health, safety, security, and environment (QHSSE) standards, which provide the framework for all the company’s service offerings and operations.
The company is committed to continuous improvement across all aspects of their services, priding themselves on achieving the ISO certifications for all service offerings and facilities, which are governed by an integrated management system (IMS).
“Our company’s various departments and divisions cooperate to ensure that all employees, clients, and subcontractors maintain the highest safety standards for operations conducted in our facilities; whether by the company or its contractors’,” stated GWC Group CEO Ranjeev Menon.
“We approach this commitment to quality and safety with passion, ensuring the higher interest, and for GWC to remain part of enabling your success stories.”
Last week, FIFA announced that GWC signed to become the first Official National Supporter of the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2019™ presented by Alibaba Cloud.
GWC will be entrusted to carry out the complex logistics requirements for the tournament as the official logistics provider. The FIFA Club World Cup 2019 Qatar™ will be played from December 11 to 21 at three venues in Qatar.
