In line with the efforts to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030, Doha Girls Center is setting a three-year plan to provide innovative services focusing on citizenship, social entrepreneurship, positive use of modern technology, and life skills.
In an interview with Qatar Tribune, Doha Girls Center Director Mazyona Al Naimi expressed her hope and excitement to support efforts acquired to empower young women in the society. Excerpts of the interview:
What is the vision of the centre?
The center’s vision revolves around improving the quality of education and training, and interacting with the girls by fostering innovative ideas and using them as youth initiatives. We are reaping results for the community by training young women with unlimited potential and skills.
What is the mission of the centre?
Our mission is to contribute to achieving Qatar National Vision 2030 through the basic pillars of development, including the pillar of human development, which is to empower young Qatari women to become a model in leading the world youth in all areas of the principle of empowering and involving young men and women to achieve their full potential and investment in taking the leading role in decision-making and learning and growth in proportion to current developments.
Additionally, the centre seeks to discover the talents of the younger generation and develop their skills to enhance their abilities to excel and to be creative in various areas of life to enhance the spirit of the national perspective.
What is the strategy of the centre with the enrolled girls?
Our strategy is to instil in them skills, attitudes and values commensurate with the culture and needs of the Qatari society, help organise the investment of leisure time in programmes that develop the personality of girls and exploit their energies and help them in good upbringing.
By developing the perceptions among girls, discovering and refining talents for the benefit of society, it will be possible to support girls’ issues and priorities.
Developing the intellectual, cultural and social aspects of girls is also important, for it prepares the girls properly in all aspects and trains them to take responsibility.
How is the centre cooperating with related national entities?
In order to achieve its objectives, the centre shall take all necessary means, provided that it works under the supervision and guidance of the Ministry of Culture and Sports within the limits of the general policy established by the ministry by following strategic objectives.
What are the targeted objectives?
Our objectives are to promote the spirit of citizenship and loyalty among girls and to encourage them to initiate and volunteer in the service of society and inculcate and develop the concepts of social entrepreneurship among girls and encourage them to initiate community services in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
