The Amiri Guard School celebrated the closing of the first part of the training season for 2019-2020 with the graduation of trainees in a number of basic and advanced courses, at the camp of ‘Hosniya’.
The ceremony was held under the patronage and presence of the Commander of the Amiri Guard Major-General Hazza bin Khalil al Shahwani.
The closing ceremony was also attended by the deputy commander, the inspector general and the assistant commander of the Amiri Guard, a number of officers from various departments, and officers of the armed forces and Internal Security Force ‘Lekhwiya’.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Colonel Ali ARahma al Muraikhi, acting commander of the Amiri Guard School, said the event is the culmination of the strenuous efforts made during the training season. He noted that the school always seeks to develop and modernise the training system in order to reach the highest level of efficiency and readiness of the staff.
The trainees presented a number of field activities that reflected the competence and combat readiness enjoyed by the Amiri Guard. It included a series of self-defence methods, a variety of combat movements and jumping over the firewall.
The activities also included realistic scenarios for intrusions in the counter-terrorism operations through tactical descent from the top of the buildings and airdrop from a helicopter, in addition to shooting skills by hitting fixed and moving targets accurately, and the application of a number of hypotheses for rapid intervention and protection of personalities.
At the end of the ceremony, the commander of the Amiri Guard honoured the graduates.
