As per the orders of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar has established an air bridge with Pakistan to transport relief supplies to help the country deal with its worst floods in history.

The first flights to use the air bridge also carried Qatar Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya)'s search and rescue team trained for foreign deployment, as well as a medical team. The medical team is travelling fully equipped to establish field hospitals in areas affected by the calamitous floods that have killed more than 1,000 people and submerged nearly a third of Pakistan.

Pumps and other equipment to withdraw floodwater are part of the relief materials to be sent to Pakistan from Qatar.

A rescue and relief work standing committee of Qatar is overseeing the assembly of relief materials.
