MES Indian School celebrated Qatar National Day with hosting special assembliesat its various sections, and students in traditional Qatari costume took part in the event,waving the national flag and balloons.
PrincipalHameeda Kadar, in her address,called on students to adopt greater ideals such as nobility and sincerity, which are the noble traits of great leaders.
At the Boys’ Section, ArjunAjithanNadukandiyil of Class X-Hdelivered a speech highlighting the significance of the Qatar National Day celebrations. SreyasSankar of XII-E recited a poem related to Qatar National Day.
At the Girls’ Section, the assembly was conducted by the students of grade XII-Q. Atika Nagar from XII-Q spoke about the glorious past and present of Qatar. The school choir sang an Arabic patriotic song. A solo song was sung by Nafeesa of VIII-K. The occasion also witnessed a cake-cutting ceremony by the principal.
At the Junior Section, Jeshrin of class 5 C delivered a speech. NizaFathima and Eline shared some informative facts on Qatar. Students of Class 1 presented a beautiful Arabic dance. JoashThampan of Class III-B played Qatar national anthem on the keyboard. Arally of children representing the Arab culture was carried out on the occasion.
The tiny tots of KG performed an elegant and colourful Qatari dance, and young speakers of tomorrow spoke on the culture and heritage while sharing their love for Qatar. A short video about Qatar was also played on this occasion.
Students, teachers and school officials attended the special assemblies. The activities were co-ordinated by Jency George, Srilakshmi Ramesh Babu, Gigi James andChristianne Gonzaga.
