MES Indian School was among the top five finalists of Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI) IC-SEWEN 2019 Young Innovator Competition recently.
MES prepared a short video based on the theme to save water entitled ‘Smart Users’ as part of QEERI project and was selected as one of the finalists from 300 video entries sent by various schools in Qatar.
MES is the only Indian school to have been selected for the final round of QEERI 2019.
The film was made as an effort to promote awareness of the importance of saving water and avoiding reckless use of plastic. The students who featured in the short film, which was recorded at the Sealine dunes, conveyed the message of the need to preserve natural resources like water for the benefit of the future generations. Junior Section students Durai Prabhakaran (IV-A), Mishara Manmadan (IV-A), Ahna Haroon (IV-E), Sidra Maryam (IV-G), Huda Zainaba (IV-G) and Fathima Shifa (IV-G), featured in the five-minute short film.
The students who participated in the competition were also interviewed by the juries and were presented with certificates and mementos.
The school’s Principal Hameeda Kadar congratulated the participants for their efforts and performance.
Rafeeq TK, Sunu Anie, Falak were the teachers in charge.
