The National Service Academy on Thursday celebrated the conclusion of a self-defence course held for an Iraqi team of officers.
The six-week course, which aiming to raise the participants’ fitness level, involved body fitness exercises including swimming, running, barriers field, ring exercises and weight lifting.
The officers also trained on Jujutsu, in addition to training on self-defence skills such as armless combat and methods of disarming the enemy, as well as combat with sticks and knives.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief of Staff for Education and Training Staff Major-General Hamad Ahmed al Nuaimi, Ambassador of Iraq to Qatar HE Omar Ahmed Karim al Barzanji and Head of the National Service Academy Staff Major-General Saeed Hamad al Nuaimi.
At the beginning of the ceremony, an illustrative video of the training received by the Iraqi team was shown.
The graduates presented a simplified show that reflected the skills and methods they were trained on during the course.
Staff Major-General Hamad Ahmed al Nuaimi and Ambassador Barazanji distributed certificates to the graduates.
The ambassador thanked Qatar and the National Service Academy for their efforts in this course. He also thanked the graduates and urged them to make more efforts to be better officers.
